Flobots.org History

The Flobots know first-hand how music can touch the life of a young person. On the road, on stages around the world and in the studio, the members of this Denver band have seen music open the minds and motivate youth to make powerful changes in themselves, their relationships and their communities.

That’s why in March of 2008 they created Flobots.org, a 501 c-3 organization founded in Denver. Using music and the arts as inspiration, Flobots.org equips young people with tools to make a difference in themselves, their communities and their world.

Flobots.org works to create positive social change by harnessing the power of music and those who love it. We view music as a tool for therapy, community building, leadership development and action.

Major Programs

Art to Action: Connecting youth to artist mentors and arts enrichment experiences through after-school and daytime programs. We currently serve students in six middle schools as well as the Denver Children’s Home and the African Community Center.

Fight with Tools:
Building leadership and organizing skills to create meaningful change and promote social justice. In partnership with three major universities in Colorado, we’re activating young people to get involved with their communities on the ground level.

Providing youth at residential treatment centers with access to computers, software and instructors to create original, cutting edge music.

We also operate the Flobots.org Community Space in Five Points/Curtis Park Neighborhood of Denver.
